The Ayrton Senna Forever exhibition, scheduled at the National Automobile Museum in Turin from 24 April to 13 October, retraces the career of the Formula 1 legend with some unmissable gems. Let’s discover them together

She calls me Ayrton Senna Forever there exhibition organized at the National Automobile Museum of Turin to celebrate the life and career of the three-time Formula 1 world champion, thirty years after his death in Imola. Carlo Cavicchi, Director of Autosprint at the time of Senna’s successes, who he knew very well, he succeeded in bringing it to Italy in the year of such an important anniversary the most significant cars of Ayrton’s sporting epic. We start with karts, moving on to the Formula Fords and Formula 3 with which he made his way into the minor categories, to arrive at the Toleman TG184 with which he debuted in F1, the Lotus 97T and 99T, the McLaren MP4/4 show car and the Williams FW16the car in which he met a mocking fate.

“It was eight intense months of work but I believe the final result can give visitors to the exhibition a truly exhaustive and engaging memory of the great Brazilian ace. He, always demanding and fussy, would have wanted it like this, and it was the goal we sought from the beginning,” says Cavicchi. A journey, that of the Ayrton Senna Forever exhibition, which boasts a setup that wants to remember a starting grid, with the cars lined up as if they were ready to leave, illuminated by black and white light beams to give the sensation of movement. But it’s not just the cars that are the protagonists of the exhibition.

There are also 114 photographs, selected by Carlo Cavicchi and Director Lorenza Bravetta from over 12 thousand taken by the greatest photographers of the time: Angelo Orsi, Bernard Asset, Ercole Colombo, Martyn Elford, Rainer Schlegelmilch, Steven Tee, Keith & Mark Sutton, to which are added those from the archives of Autosprint, Motorsport Images and LAT Images. But there is also space for the driver’s helmets and suits, worn by mannequins of the same height as Ayrton, as well as gloves, clothing, watches, personal correspondence and even the complete collection of Senninha booksthe comic alter ego of the Brazilian champion.
