In qualifications today the starting grid was determined Chinese GP of the F1 World Championship 2024which will culminate tomorrow, Sunday 21 April, the weekend with the race of Shanghai which will be valid as the fifth round of the F1 calendar.

Today’s race was held on the same track first Sprint of the season, in which the victory went to the Dutchman Max Verstappen, leader of the Drivers’ World Championship. The Red Bull standard-bearer, who started fourth, preceded the British Lewis Hamilton, second with Mercedes.

Third place for the other Red Bull of the Mexican Sergio Perez, while the two Ferraris remained off the podium, with the Monegasque Charles Leclerc fourth and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz fifth. Following the two McLarens with Lando Norris sixth and Oscar Piastri seventh, finally finishing the points was George Russell’s Mercedes.

In classical qualifications, in view of tomorrow’s long race, however, the British Lewis Hamilton exits in Q1, 18th. Together with him Zhou, 16th, Magnussen, 17th, Tsunoda, 19th, and Sargeant, 20th. Carlos Sainz spins in Q2, but Stroll, Ricciardo, Ocon, Albon and Gasly are eliminated. In Q3 Verstappen precedes Perez for an all-Red Bull front row. Third Alonso, 4th Norris, 5th Piastri, 6th Leclerc, 7th Sainz.
