A Sprint Race ended in controversy. Charles Leclerc And Carlos Sainzarrived respectively at fourth And fifth place, they gave birth to a question and answer after the race which risks compromising the mood ahead of the Grand Prix China, the fifth event of the year. The two drivers of the team of Maranelloin fact, they came to contact a few laps from the end: the Monegasque didn’t like it at all aggression of his Spanish companion, then letting off steam radio and expressing his discontent at the finish. Sainz himself then sorrybut this first episode could lead to more problems later in the season.

Max Verstappen the first one won Sprint Race on the Shanghai circuit, moving up from fourth on the grid and winning the head-to-head with Lewis Hamilton. The final step of the podium went to Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez. The Ferraris finished immediately behind, with Leclerc fourth and Sainz fifth, also due to the contact between the two cars which then favored Perez’s escape. There were a few laps left to go when the curve 14 Sainz defended himself from the Monegasque’s attack by squeezing so hard that he sent it off track. Leclerc then got to the front, but after passing the checkered flag he complained over the radio about his teammate’s attitude: “Fight more against me than against others.”

The vent he continued in front of the cameras: “I think Carlos was aggressive today. There will be one discussion, as always in these cases. We will talk and clarify.” Again at the microphones of Sky Sports, Sainz was also pressed on the episode. The number 55 of Ferrari responded with these words trying to dilute spirits: “I destroyed the tires and found myself having to manage the race. The fight with Charles? I was messed up because of the car damage. I’ll have to look back at the pictures, but if he says I was aggressive I’m sorry“. The case, perhaps, ends here.
