The Scottish team coached by Franco Smith, has formalized the transfer of Adam Hastings from Gloucester to the Glasgow Warriors.

Starting next season, the player will once again wear the colors of the franchise in which he established himself at URC level, before moving to the Premiership for three sporting seasons.

Hastings, began his academy career at Bath, then joined Glasgow in the 2017/18 season, quickly becoming a key player in the group managed by Dave Rennie.

The fly-half, the son of Gavin Hastings, then took his game to a higher level in 2018/19, when with a series of high-level performances, he obtained the award PRO14 Young Player of the Season.

Greet the Gloucester crowd with 326 points in 39 games.

URC: Adam Hastings in Glasgow to regain space

Adam Hastings has 27 Scotland caps, including a 2019 World Cup appearance in Japan where he scored 26 of his team’s 61 points in the win over Russia.

Among his objectives, there is also that of becoming an option for Gregor Townsend again. Currently sidelined with a knee problem, he could still be an alternative to Finn Russell in the near future.

Hastings’ statements after the deal: “I had a good chat with Franco and the coaches before signing, and I was really impressed with their vision for the club, the culture off the pitch, the rugby identity they want to express on the field. It’s a really exciting time to be a Glasgow Warriors player.”
