Dembele, Vitinha, Doue, Luis Enrique, Al-Khelaifi and Campos among the winners, as well as Mendes, Nakata and Yamal, while CR7 crowns Nole with an unprecedented award.
Paris Saint-Germain dominates the scene at the Globe Soccer Awards. In Dubai, the French club, winner of the last edition of the Champions League, took home several awards.
Above all, team of the year. Ousmane Dembelé won the award for best player in the world, ahead of Kylian Mbappe, Raphinha, Vitinha and Lamine Yamal. The coach of the European and French champion team Luis Enrique, awarded as best coach, also celebrates with him. Vitinha was awarded the title of best midfielder, while Desire Doué was awarded as best emerging talent. PSG also received the titles of best president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) and best sporting director (Luis Campos).
Premi for Mendes, Yamal, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Nakata and Pogba
Nothing to do for Pastorello and Manna in the agents and sports director categories: together with Campos he won the title as best Mendes prosecutor.
Barcelona and European champion Spain ace Yamal won the title as best striker, while Cristiano Ronaldo ‘triumphed’ as best player in the Middle East.
As far as the national teams are concerned, CR7’s Portugal wins the title of best national selection. Lifetime achievement awards for Iniesta and Nakata, the former Roma player who championed Italy with the Giallorossi in 2001/2002, while a special award goes to Paul Pogba: the comeback award.
Djokovic also wins an award
Awards also for women’s football: at Barcelona the one for Best women’s club, the best women’s team. An edition with something new: it was Cristiano Ronaldo who announced, in partnership with GLOBE SOCCER, his Globe Sports Award, the prize that recognizes the number one in the world of global sport: the first to be awarded the recognition is Novak Djokovic, 24-time Grand Slam champion.
“I am the man of challenges, and football is my life, but sport is much more than just football and for me this is a new era – the words of CR7 -: we must open our minds to other sports too, and this is precisely what we thought about in giving life to this extraordinary award. We created it with the belief that we can learn a lot from every discipline. For me it is a real honor to be part of this new chapter”. Djokovic hailed yet another career recognition as “an honor and a privilege”.
