Genoa – The Board of Directors of Cassa depositi e prestiti, which met today under the chairmanship of Giovanni Gorno Tempini, appointed Fabrizio Fabbri as CEO of Ansaldo Energia, a company owned through Cdp Equity, to replace the outgoing Giuseppe Marino.
Giuseppe Marino had resigned on February 1st to take on the position of CEO of Hitachi Rail Group. His exit had alarmed the unions who had asked for certain signals for a recovery plan and new financial resources for the company. Subsequently the government, at the end of the meeting with Cdp Equity, had affirmed that it was the guarantor of a recapitalization process.
Fabbri, 58, is a manager with a long professional career and thirty years of experience in the Energy and Oil&Gas sector, which has led him to cover numerous roles of responsibility in the American companies General Electric and subsequently EthosEnergy. He began his career in 1988 in Ricciarelli Spa (Sasib Group) to then enter, in December 1989, the Tuscan Nuovo Pignone, at the time controlled by Eni and then sold to General Electric. Within the Italian industrial perimeter of General Electric, Fabbri held various positions, including in Europe, arriving at assuming the role of General Manager for Southern and Eastern Europe of the European branch of the American group and, at the same time, starting since 2015, also the position of CEO of Alstom Power Italia (also a Ge group). In this role he managed, in particular, the entire Ge Power Services business.
Starting from April 2020 he joined the management structure of the American group EthosEnergy, specialized in the production of gas and steam turbines, generators, valve pumps and aircraft components. In particular, Fabbri held the position of Executive Vice President for the eastern hemisphere of the Houston (Texas) company, managing a branched and consolidated business that has an organization of 2,150 employees and a network of 22 sites and eight establishments.
