Three young people missing due to the Natisone flood in Friuli – News

Three young people, a boy and two girls, have been missing since early afternoon today due to the flooding of the Natisone river in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Shortly before, they had raised the alarm on the phone as they were on a small island and the water was rising rapidly due to the torrential rains of the last few hours.

During the search of the area, including with a helicopter, the firefighters identified the three missing on the Natisone, but were unable to save them. They were hugging each other tightly to try to resist the current. The rescuers tried to approach with a crane and throw a rope to save them, but they didn’t have time to hook them. Shortly afterwards they were swept away by the current and their traces were lost.

While the firefighters are looking for the three boys, the carabinieri are also busy trying to trace the identity of the three. The boys may have arrived in the area, surrounded by nature, on foot and then reached the islet by wading, given that the water level was still low at that time. Only one car with a Romanian license plate was identified parked in the area, which could belong to anyone.
