WhatsApp changes again: from colorful chat backgrounds to sticker packs

There are several new features coming to WhatsApp starting from greater freedom to customize the theme and, in particular, on the colors of the so-called bubble of chats, i.e. the background and the various elements of the conversations. But not only that: in the last few hours the beta testers have also anticipated two other functions that should reach the international audience on Android and iPhone and which will focus on the possibility of search and download sticker packs as well as on the reproduction of animated images.

Customizable colors in chats

The latest possible news arriving on WhatsApp has been found in the beta version 2.24.11.5 for Android: the developers are working to facilitate customizing the color of individual chats. In fact, in addition to the expected and imminent opening to a choice of the general shade of the app, with five possible options in addition to the classic green, WhatsApp could significantly extend the color palette and allow you to customize individual chats. The example is given by the cover image with two different blues, one lighter and one darker.

Sticker packs and animated gifs coming soon

The other two WhatsApp innovations were observed in the beta versions of the Android app marked by the release 2.24.11.4 and 2.24.11.5, but they have reached a small number of users for now, so it is still a preliminary discussion. The first concerns the now imminent possibility of support even more animated stickers (with those in Lottie format, based on json files), resulting in a more practical system for search for and then download sticker packs that may be of interest to you, with a search engine very similar to that of other apps, for example Line. The next step will be the generation of animated (and non-animated) images and stickers using artificial intelligence, to unlimitedly expand the creative potential.

It is not yet clear if and when the new features will arrive in the official apps, but it is highly possible. The advice is always to keep them updated to the latest versions available so as to receive the new functions immediately.
