‘At the Olympics only if I do well, I wouldn’t take away a teammate’s place’

On the occasion of the presentation of Ninna Quario’s book, in Courmayeur together with her daughter, Fede returned to talk about the current recovery situation after the five days on the snow in the post-Christmas period: “There is a lot of training missing, I have to do everything in less than 2 months instead of 7 and the pain is there, but I try”.

Tuesday 30 December, 2.45pm

Federica Brignone finished her first block of real work on the track, with the days of giant slalom training in Courmayeur and then, on Monday morning, in Valgrisenche, as the national team trainer, Luca Scarian, told us yesterday, exclusively on NEVEITALIA (WHO the full interview).

Now a few days without snow, but the preparation towards the attempted return in January, just in time to test ourselves in terms of the Olympic Games, naturally continues and with the new year we will understand, but the Aosta Valley champion herself will understand, how close Fede can be to the goal. He also spoke about it last night, on the occasion of the presentation of mother Ninna Quario’s book, “Two Lives. The parallel slalom with my daughter Federica Brignone”, which Fede participated in at the Chalet de l’Ange in Courmayeur (with a sold out room and… beyond!).

At the event organized by the Courmayeur Mont Blanc Foundation, the TGR Valle d’Aosta correspondents intercepted the World Cup holder: “The pain is there, but fortunately it’s better – said Brignone – Receiving the news that I would be one of the standard-bearers for the Games was a great pride, if we talk about the Olympics in competitive terms, I must say that km and training are missing, not only on skis but also physical training on the snow.

I usually prepare for seven months for a season, here it’s not even two and I did eight months of therapy to re-educate my body, which is still not what it was before. I haven’t even done any training in racing conditions yet, where the ski flaps, but I will try to show up close to the Olympics at 100% and try.

If I wasn’t well I wouldn’t even qualify, no one would take me because they would go faster than me and I don’t want to take away the place of one of my teammates just to go to the gate and brake.”
