The presenter of «Domenica In» shows herself on social media after having undergone an operation for maculopathy. The last one was in November
Blue sweater, tired face and bandaged pirate eye. Mara Venier greeted her followers on Instagram with an unusual “look”, revealing that he had suffered a new eye operation. «Let’s end the year like this – the presenter says in the story Sunday Inbetween a hint of laughter and a tired look under the transparent bandage –. The presenter, 75 years old, suffers from maculopathy, a disease that affects the central part of the retina and causes a progressive loss of central vision. It is not the first operation he has undergone (five last year alone): the last one was last November 9th, when it had aired a few hours before going under the knife. «Today is a bit difficult for me, better if I say it straight away – he explained at the time -. I have a problem with my maculopathy. Finished Sunday In I’m going to have the surgery. I apologize if I miss some shots, sometimes I can’t see.”
After a month and a half, the return to the clinic for a new procedure. Perhaps not exactly the end-of-year gift that Mara Venier was expecting. But on social media the presenter does not lose her smile and wishes her followers well. Beyond thank the person who operated it, Professor Andrea Cusumanowho is among other things a researcher in ophthalmology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
