«Our line of action is clear: we support those looking for a job, those hiring and those intending to start their own business starting from the categories that are most difficult to find employment today». Giorgia Meloni thus summarizes to the unions convened at Palazzo Chigi the meaning of the new provision that the Council of Ministers will launch today, on the eve of Labor Day. There is the announced “one hundred euro bonus” for employees with medium-low incomes (up to 28,000 euros gross per year) with children, which we could call the “new year bonus” because it will be paid in January 2025 (and not with the thirteenth as initially hypothesized). And there are also huge tax breaks for new permanent hires: they will last two years and will be equal to 120% of the cost of labor (130% in the case of young people, women and some disadvantaged categories). The taxation of productivity bonuses is confirmed at 5% (it will therefore not be increased to 10%). There will be “ad hoc measures” to encourage the self-employment of the unemployed and the retraining of workers from companies in crisis. The new measures will be launched with a legislative decree implementing the fiscal delegation, and with the Cohesion decree which aims to optimize (and not lose) the use of European funds (43 billion) which become 75 billion with national resources.
