Oncological oblivion: the list of tumors and neoplasms which, if treated, trigger oncological oblivion before the age of 10
Descriptive text here

The decree of the Ministry of Health has been published in the Official Journal with the list of oncological pathologies for which shorter terms apply than those provided for by the law on oncological oblivion of 2023. The general term provides for oncological oblivion for 10 years from the end of the treatment. However, the table identifies the neoplasms for which this term is reduced: it can in fact be reduced if the diagnosis is before the twenty-first year of age, from the end of treatment or from the last surgery. In some cases they are even reduced just one year after the end of treatment.

All cancers (and ages) that will have the shortest time to achieve oblivion

Until now, the declaration of the state of illness implied, as repeatedly reported by patient associations, discrimination and difficulties in accessing mortgages, banking procedures and adoptions. An unfair methodology if you consider that oncological oblivion was already active in several European countries. Now it is also the case in Italy and in some cases it also occurs within the ten years foreseen after the resolution of the disease. For stage 1 colorectal cancer, at any age, the years from the end of treatment are reduced to one. For stages two and three, for those over 21 years of age the deadline drops to 7 years from the end of the treatments. For melanoma for those over 21 years of age the deadline changes to 6 years. For stage 1 and 2 breast cancer at any age the deadline drops to one year; for the cervix, for those over 21 the term drops to 6 years. For cancer of the body of the uterus, at any age, the term drops to 5 years; for the testicle, at any age it drops to 1 year. Finally, for thyroids under 55 years of age for women and under 45 years of age for men (excluding anaplastic tumors for both sexes) the term drops to one year. For Hodgkin lymphomas for those under 45 years of age the term drops to 5 years. Finally, for acute leukemias (lymphoblastic and myeloid), at any age, the term drops to 5 years.
