London, 26 April 2024 – The last public appearance dates back to almost four weeks ago on the occasion of the Easter mass in Windsor Castle. Since King Charles III he has no longer attended any official events and now there are growing concerns about his health. “He’s not well,” writes today British tabloid Daily Beast, reporting what – according to him – the sovereign’s friends whisper in low voices. “Everyone remains optimistic, but he is really very sick. More than they let on”, writes the newspaper.
And so Buckingham Palace is forced to break the silence to announce that the sovereign will resume public activities from next week and that his doctors say he is “very encouraging” the evolution of his condition after the announcement of cancer.

The alarm for the king’s condition

His doctors consider the progress made so far “very encouraging” and remain “optimistic” about his ongoing recovery, it added a spokesperson for the royal house. The sovereign is expected in an oncology center on Tuesday.
Although it was the monarch himself who revealed to his subjects that he had cancer, Buckingham Palace has so far never gone into detail about the disease. It is not known, for example, the type of tumor, nor what therapies he is undergoing to treat it.
Carlo’s next commitments
The king’s next public appearances will almost certainly be scrutinized to detect any gesture that could clarify his real health conditions. Among the most important appointments awaiting Carlo is the Trooping the Color ceremony, the celebrations for the King’s official birthday on 15 June. Following will be the Ascot horse races, which Elizabeth II herself has never missed.
