A 19-year-old Egyptian man was arrested for having hit a security guard from the Jewish Brigade with a stick on the sidelines of the demonstration on April 25th in Milan. This is a young man who with eight others, all North Africans, unrelated to the pro-Palestine demonstration underway in Piazza Duomo, was near a fast food restaurant and, with kicks, punches and with a pole, attacked the deployment of the Jewish Brigade . They were all reported for incitement to commit crimes for reasons of racial, ethnic and religious discrimination while the Egyptian was arrested and also reported for possession of a stick.
“The attack by Arab boys with the consequent bruises and cuts suffered by those peacefully demonstrating with the Jewish Brigade caused injuries throughout April 25th.” The director of the Jewish Brigade Museum in Milan, Davide Romano, is convinced of this and takes stock of the national Liberation procession with ANSA, where there were insults, whistles and even physical attacks on members of the Jewish Brigade. In Piazza Duomo, during the institutional interventions from the stage, the pro-Palestine activists then booed the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala and the leaders of the ANPI, as well as the Jewish Brigade.
“The legitimization of ProPal groups with anti-democratic impulses has had the result of filling Piazza Duomo with minorities of pro-Hamas, pro-Iranian Ayatollah, pro-Putin and pro-Erdogan fanatics – continues Romano -. And at the same time we who have sided with democracy , we who wanted to remember the Resistance of the Jewish Brigade and the Ukrainians in Italy, as well as bring with us today’s Iranian, Russian and Eritrean dissidents, were attacked.” “There is obviously something wrong. And not only for our safety, which has never been at risk like this time – he explains -. But for the whole of April 25th, dominated by these fanatical and violent minorities. It was a truly bad show , which we hope to never witness again.”
