Alfredo Mancinelli, candidate with the civic list “In Comune” in support of the mayoral candidate Emanuele Pepa, presented his idea to transform Piazza Leopardi into the city’s living room with the creation of appropriate furnishings and the installation of dehors.
“My idea, which the others have shared, explains Mancinelli, is to place dehors, closed and heated independently in the winter, at the service of the structures currently present in the square, bars in particular, with the formation of platforms strictly bordering the commercial and non-commercial establishments, as they are today, with tables in the middle of the square separated from their respective bars by the road where cars pass.
Naturally, in this case, the traffic system will also need to be reviewed with cars which will perhaps be able to pass behind the tower, next to the monument to Giacomo Leopardi, to exit in front of the Church of San Domenico. Between the terraces and the roadway there will be a protective space consisting of a series of flowerbeds with trees”
