Elodie new ambassador for Save the Children: «I know what was missing in my childhood»

Elodie was nominated Save the Children ambassador “For defend the rights of the most vulnerable girls and boys». The announcement was made jointly by the NGO and the singer, who on Instagram posted videos and photos of her commitment with children which began as early as 2022, and explained that she was “officially an ambassador for Save the Children”.

It is a role, explained Elodie, «of which I am very proud and that was born as part of the “Take Care” project, in the Quartaccio neighborhood of Rome, where I was born and raised. Together we will work to ensure a future full of opportunities for boys and girls.”

Elodie also underlined that she has decided to engage with Save the Children «because I was a child too and I know what was missing in my childhood. I believe that every adult should work to ensure that the future of all children is dignified and represents the realization of all their potential and desires.”

And already in recent days the singer has met a group of students (those who appear in the Instagram post with the announcement of the appointment as ambassador, ed.) from the primary school of the “Andersen” complex of the Pio La Torre comprehensive institute, in Quartaccio district of Rome, some of whom will be protagonists of the “Take care” project.

This is a project which, carried out by Save the Children in collaboration with the “Pio La Torre” Comprehensive Institute and the S. Onofrio Social Cooperative, involves theactivation of a system of “educational skills” for a first group of minors between 6 and 17 years old of the Quartaccio. In practice, explains the NGO, it involves «create personalized support paths to promote well-being and access to inclusive education of girls, boys and adolescents who live in conditions of socioeconomic vulnerability by supporting their passions, aspirations and talents”.

Elodie, who has never hidden her difficult childhood, had already collaborated with Save the Children in various projects in the past: in 2020 she designed the solidarity sweater Christmas Jumper to help children in difficulty and their families, in March 2022 the proceeds from the sale of his single Bath at midnight it had been used to support the NGO’s projects in favor of Ukrainian children fleeing the war, and in October he had already shared some details in his Instagram stories of the project in favor of children from the suburbs which is now starting in Quartaccio.

Attention to minors which, clarifies the president of Save the Children, Claudio Tesauro, is particularly important not only abroad but also in Italy, where «1.3 million children live in absolute poverty; many of them in urban suburbs, often without spaces and opportunities that can stimulate their growth”. And thanks to the new project “we are certain that Elodie will make a significant contribution to this daily commitment”.
