Will Rey’s Star Wars movie be titled Episode X: A New Beginning? This title for the next film in the Lucasfilm saga had circulated last year thanks to a rumor that had taken hold online and was subsequently denied by Disney, but now things may have changed.
According to Production List, as reported by independent journalist Jeff Sneider via his newsletter The DisInsider, Rey’s new film it will actually be titled Star Wars: Episode X – A New Beginningand with this title the document for filming was presented, which will begin at Pinewood Studios in London next September.
“The production of A New Beginning will be a monumental effort, with the goal of capturing the narrative universe that fans have come to love. Filming will begin later this year, with pre-production activities already underway. The production will span multiple bases around the world, and will use a mix of real locations and recreated studio environments in order to bring the galaxy far, far away to life. Cutting-edge technology, including the latest in CGI and practical effectswill be used to maintain the high visual standards of the franchise.”the report reads.
There’s always the possibility that this is another working title, but with filming scheduled to begin in just a few months the rumors may have been confirmed. Recall that the plot details of the new Star Wars film, which will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, are still under wraps, but we know that the story will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and will see Rey as a “powerful Jedi master” who will attempt to recreate the Jedi Order.
