Road House directed by Doug Limanjust overshadowed by the director’s subsequent controversy over its failure to be released in theaters, come on Prime Video since March 21st he has totaled 50 million views in a couple of weeks in the world, becoming the most watched Amazon MGM Studios original film upon its debut, without rivals. The light-hearted story of Dalton bouncerplayed by a Jake Gyllenhaal in dazzling physical strength, evidently convinced a large part of the public, with the exception perhaps of the most devoted fans of the late Patrick Swayzewho interpreted the original The Road House tough guy in 1989, directed by Rowdy Herrington. For now we only know that Gyllenhaal will return in sequels, but there is no news regarding the rest of the cast. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, explained this to advertisers the brand has become lucrative: “As we saw this spring the world has gone crazy for a little movie called Road House. Nearly 80 million people watched Road House. We look at these results like we look at a newborn baby.”
Road House introduced us to the character of Dalton, a former UFC martial arts fighter: he takes a job as a bouncer in a roadhouse in the Florida Keys area, infamous for its tendency to fight. Beyond the chaos and the beatings, there is something even more rotten in this territory…
