New images of the film which is based on events that actually (more or less) happened to the director’s father on the set of Friedkin’s The Exorcist.
Expected at the cinema from May 30th with Eagle Pictures, The exorcism – Last act is a new horror with Russell Crowe which touches on the themes of demonic possession, and which intertwines its story with that of the film from which this evergreen genre of horror cinema was born and has prospered: The exorcist Of William Friedkin.
The film, in fact, sees the popular Australian actor in the role of… an actor. An actor who is playing the role of an exorcist priest on the set of a film about possessions, and who during filming begins to show signs of something dark in reality.
The curious thing is that it was he who wrote and directed this film Joshua John Millerwho is the son of that Jason Miller who tied his career to the role of Father Karras in Friedkin’s film, and who stated that he took inspiration for this story from some events that actually happened to his father at the time.

Anthony Miller (Russell Crowe) is an actor now adrift, tormented by the demons of his past. When he finally lands a starring role in a horror film about exorcisms, Anthony seems to get back in touch with reality, even mending his complex relationship with his teenage daughter. During filming, however, disturbing phenomena begin to occur on the film set, dragging Anthony into an abyss of madness. Scene after scene, the man’s behavior becomes more and more sinister, making him a dangerous threat even to his daughter. What terrifying mystery hovers over the film set and its protagonists? What dark secret lies in Anthony’s past? But above all, could there be a demon that wants to take possession of him?
