Fast & Furious 11 will be the last chapter of the Vin Diesel saga, but as expected it will not be able to respect the release date originally set by Universal Picturesi.e. that of 4 April 2025.
Since we are already in the month of May and Fast & Furious 11 hasn’t started filming yet a postponement seemed practically inevitable, and in fact during a recent panel dedicated to the saga organized at Mexico’s CCXP moderated by Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Fast X director Louis Leterrier has revealed that Fast 11 will be released in 2026.
The director, who with the previous episode earned over 700 million dollars at the global box office, has anticipated that he is currently about to begin work on another film project unrelated to the Fast Saga, a horror whose filming will end in September and after which he will focus on Fast 11. “I will finish my little horror film on September 15th and will start actively working on Fast 11 as early as September 16th. I think filming will start in early 2025, and the film will be released in 2026” revealed Louis Leterrier.
Currently the future of the Fast & Furious saga is confusing to say the least: in fact, remember that, in addition to Fast 11, Universal had also promised a new spin-off dedicated to Luke Hobbs, the character played by Dwayne Johnson, who would have acted as a bridge between Fast 10 and Fast 11 and of whom, however, traces were subsequently lost.
