Looking forward to seeing the beloved actor again in action in the new Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine Hugh Jackman has already announced his next film, the very interesting The Death of Robin Hood.

As can easily be understood from the title, the new film The Death of Robin Hood will tell a new story inspired by the legendary popular hero, already brought to the screen by actors like Kevin Costner and Russell Crowea story which however will have a darker and more nihilistic outlook than usual: the film, which will also feature The Last Duel and The Bikeriders actress Jodie Comer and which will be directed by director Michael Sarnoski, who comes from the acclaimed Pig with Nicolas Cage and who will soon return with the new A quiet place: Day One, will see Robin Hood dealing with his violent pastwith the hero of Sherwood Forest stealing from the rich to give to the poor he will have to deal with a life spent committing crimes and murders.

Instead of the cheerful outlaw seen in some earlier versions of the story, such as the one played by Errol Flynn, This new Robin Hood is “a lonely man worn out by the battles of the past” who one day finds himself seriously injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation. There’s a bit of the elegiac interpretation of Robin and Marian by Richard Lestera 1976 film with Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn as the elderly Robin Hood and Lady Marian, but also why not Logan by James Mangoldin which Hugh Jackman played an old, tired and regretful version of Wolverine.

Filming of “The Death of Robin Hood” will begin in February 2025. For other content, discover all the films about the figure of Robin Hood.
