Jake Gyllenhaal gets dragged into a vortex of obsession, politics, power, sex and relationships in Presumed innocentthe new series of Apple TV+ which will debut on June 12th with the first two episodes followed by a new episode every Wednesday, until July 24. The video streaming service has released the teaser trailer in Italian which you see below.

The plot and cast of Presumed Innocent

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by New York Times Of Scott Turow – which had already inspired the 1990 film with Harrison Ford, Greta Scacchi and Bonnie Bedelia – the new series tells in eight episodes a horrible murder that shocks the Chicago prosecutor’s office when the chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal) comes under suspicion of crime. As the accused struggles to keep his family and marriage together, he faces scandals and power plays. In the trailer we see some previews of the rather steamy relationship between Sabich and a woman named Carolyn. We soon learn that Carolyn is the victim of the horrendous crime, but is Sabich really the culprit?

The series can boast a notable cast and a top-notch production team. The prolific screenwriter David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers) serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Gyllenhaal, Dustin Thomason (Castle Rock) And JJ Abrams (Lost).
