Ryan Gosling’s next film will be The Fall Guy, an action comedy arriving in May, but subsequently the Driver and Blade Runner 2049 actor will return to science fiction with a new original film that we recommend you keep an eye on.
We’re talking about Project Hail Marya film in the works for several years now which will be written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the acclaimed authors of The LEGO Movie and the Spider-Man Miles Morales animated film saga: in recent times we had lost track of the film, but fortunately in these hours it has forcefully returned on track given that was purchased by Amazon MGM Studioswhich immediately set a production start and release date, now scheduled for on March 20, 2026.
The film, which will be shot in IMAX, will be produced by Amy Pascal, Ryan Gosling, Lord, Miller, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Connor and Andy Weir: the story is based on the novel of the same name by Weir (writer of The Martian, which inspired Ridley Scott’s acclaimed film starring Matt Damon) and is set in the near future in which Ryland Grace (played by Ryan Gosling) is an astronaut who wakes up from a coma to find himself alone on an abandoned space station, with no memory of who he is or his mission: he will soon discover that he has been sent to the solar system of Tau Ceti, 12 light years from Earthto reverse the impact of a space event that brought the first stages of an ice age to our planet.
