Late Night With the Devil is wowing US audiences while receiving staunch critical acclaim and scoring an incredible 97% approval on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Let’s find out together what the new horror film written, directed and edited by brothers Cameron Cairnes and Colin Cairnes is about.
After reporting the diabolical numbers obtained at the box office by Late Night With the Devil, we return to dealing with the feature film with David Dastmalchian to talk about the plot of what, for all intents and purposes, can be considered the horror of the moment and this first part of 2024.
The work is represented in the form of a film found footage with a documentary prologue and focuses on an episode of a talk show that aired during the night of Halloween 1977 in which the host, the ambitious Jack Delroy, to build an episode on the paranormal, invites onto the program, among other guests, a girl presumably possessed by the devil in an attempt to bring the show’s ratings back up after a period of decline.
As already mentioned, the response from the public and the specialized press has highlighted the excellent stylistic choice relating to the use of the idea of found footage, the interpretation of the characters and the entertaining and original narration of the film.
