The Italian box office podium does not change, despite yesterday’s new releases. A world apart is first with 124 thousand euros 3 almost 3.3 million, Kung Fu Panda 4 obtains 74 thousand euros and rises to 8.8 million, Godzilla and Kong – The New Empire completes the podium with 63 thousand euros and 2.6 million.
Three new entries in the middle of the table. Omen – The origin of the omen opens with 55 thousand euros and over 7 thousand spectators, Monkey Man is fifth with 21 thousand euros and over 3 thousand spectators, with Zamora which follows closely with 20 thousand euros.
Priscilla collects another 16 thousand euros and rises to 591 thousand, Dune – Part 2 is approaching 10 million with the 14 thousand obtained yesterday, they close Food For Profit with just under 10 thousand euros and 309 thousand in total and the latest new entry Tatami with almost 9 thousand euros and 46 thousand in total, counting the previews.
THE WEEKEND IN THE USA
Not just blockbusters in this week’s American weekend, with many minor and indie releases to enrich the offering for the public. With considerable delay compared to the world release, for once in Italy, they arrive on screens The Old Oak by Ken Loach and A stroke of luck – Coup de chance by Woody Allen, both on a few screens.
The very active Fathom Events sends to just under two thousand rooms Someone Like You, a bestselling film based on Karen Kingsbury, number one in the prestigious New York Times ranking. The film is directed by Tyler Russell and stars Jake Allyn, Sarah Fisher and Lynn Collins. Also interesting is worth mentioning Housekeeping for Beginners, nominated for an Oscar as best international film for Macedonia. The best-grossing film ever returns to theaters on April 7th, Gone With the Wind.
Meanwhile, the first three months of the year closed with a decrease of 6% compared to the same period last year, estimated at approximately 106 million dollars. The American box office has grossed 1.6 billion dollars to date.
