In addition to the announcement of the new film Nuclear War, a sort of ‘sequel to Oppenheimer’ which imagines what would happen to the world if a real nuclear war were to break out, confirmation has also arrived in recent hours that the director Denis Villeneuve is working on Dune: Part 3.
In fact, on Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety we read that the Canadian director and Legendary Pictures, the company behind the Dune film saga, are “actively developing a third film in the Dune series, based on the writings of science fiction author Frank Herbert”. Even Deadline – which first and exclusively reported the news of Nuclear War: A Scenario, also specifies that Legendary’s expectations for Dune 3 are very highand that the film – which will be an adaptation of the novel Dune: Messiah, a direct sequel to the first book of the saga that Villeneuve divided into Dune: Part 1 and Dune: Part 2 – it will also be Denis Villeneuve’s next filmafter which the author will return to collaborate with the company on the Nuclear War project.
