On May 10th, a film will be released in the United States, both in theaters and digitally, which has been highly talked about since its presentation at festivals such as Fantastic Fest and the Sitgesso much so that it currently enjoys – out of only thirteen reviews, of course, but still… – a 100% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film is titled The Last Stop In Yuma Countyand he’s curious mix between pulp thriller and neo western which recalls, judging by the trailer that you can see below, certain things about the brothers Cohen as well as atmospheres Tarantinian (in an extended sense, i.e. in the sense of what Tarantino did, but also inspired many followers).
Written and directed by a newcomer, Francis Galluppi, tells the story of a traveling salesman who sells knives around the United States who, having run out of petrol, finds himself stranded in an isolated diner in Arizona adjacent to the petrol station where he hoped to be able to fill up, but who is she’s dry too. While waiting for the tanker with fuel to arrive, two ruthless bank robbers fleeing with their loot also burst into the diner, also waiting for refueling, who will force our protagonist and the diner waitress to remain silent and not reveal their identity to any other customer, under penalty of death.
