Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner joins the cast of “Fantastic Four” in the role of Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer from the Marvel comics. She will star alongside Pedro Pascal (who plays Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm aka the Thing)
Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner joins the cast of Fantastic Four (Fantastic Four) as Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer from the Marvel comics.
He will star alongside Pedro Pascal (who plays Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm aka the Thing ).
The news was first reported by the American magazine Deadlineafter which it was quickly picked up by all US media.
Matt Shakman (WandaVision, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters) will direct Fantastic Fourwhose screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Eric Pearson.
Production on the film is expected to begin this summer, with the film now scheduled for release on July 25, 2025.

The Silver Surfer was previously played by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), the 2007 superhero film directed by Tim Story and based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Julia Garner, born in 1994, is an American actress known for her role as Ruth Langmore in the television series Ozarks (where he starred alongside Jason Bateman and Laura Linney). For her portrayal of Ruth Langmore she earned critical acclaim and won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, while also receiving Screen Actors Guild Award and Critics’ Choice nominations Television Awards.
In 2020 he replicated the success he achieved with his portrayal of Langmore by starring in the film The Assistant by Kitty Green, thanks to which he received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Awards.
Last year the couple Garner actress and Green director worked together again for The Royal Hotelwhich Julia Garner also produced through her Alma Margo production banner.
Garner is next to star in Wolf Man by Leigh Whannell, on whose set she will join Christopher Abbott. We will also see her in the psychological thriller Apartment 7A Paramount, produced by John Krasinski.
