Even before counting begins, 15 mayors are already practically certain of their election. They were in fact the only candidates in their respective municipalities, and therefore their only challenge was against the quorum, set at 40%. Challenge largely won in all 15 Municipalities.
Three are “new faces”: Mario Basso a BardinetoGianni Borreani a Mioglia and Simone Durante a Ogre Feglino.
In all other cases these are reconfirmations of outgoing mayors, who thus reach their second, third or even fourth mandate: they succeed Arnasco (Matteo Mirone), Bormida (Daniele Galliano), Cosseria (Roberto Molinaro), Dego (Franco Siri), Erli (Sergio Bruno), Giustenice (Mauro Boetto), Mallet (Enrico Lanfranco, this is actually his fourth mandate), Plodius (Gabriele Badano), Urbe (Fabrizio Antoci), Sell it (Sabrina Losno), Vezzi Portio (Germano Barbano) and Villanova d’Albenga (Pietro Balestra, for him the third consecutive mandate but even the seventh in total).
For everyone, however, the official announcement will only arrive during the counting: for the election to be valid, the candidate for mayor, in fact, must obtain 50%+1 of valid votes out of the total of those expressed (there is therefore the remote possibility that the election is not valid if more than half of the ballots are blank or void).
