The summer season is about to begin, and the summer sales are also approaching, which will allow millions of Italians to buy clothing and products at reduced prices.
As established by a resolution of the Lombardy Region, this year there will be summer promotions in the northern Italy region will exceptionally start on 6 July 2023 and end on 3 September 2023.
The resolution provides that it will no longer be possible to carry out promotional sales as early as Tuesday 6 June 2023, i.e. 30 days before the official start of the promotional period.
The legislation provides for the obligation, for traders, to display the initial price next to the product offered at a discount and the percentage of the discount or rebate. Optionally, it is also possible to indicate the sale price resulting from the discount or rebate.
The Region has also established that the commercial operator is obliged to provide truthful information on the discounts applied and that products on sale are separated from those offered for sale at full price.
Clearly, consumers have the possibility to request the replacement of the product or a refund of the price paid upon presentation of the receipt, which must therefore be kept.
The dates of the sales vary from region to region, but in general the first week of July is chosen as the period in which to start them.
