McLaren Applied / Greybull Capital confirms offer for Fimer. This is the positive news that comes from the Court of Arezzo in the hearing scheduled for the creditors and to decide on the possible revocation of the arrangement with creditors. After hearing all the parties involved, the judge’s decision is expected in the next few days.
The workers, trade unions, the mayor of Terranuova, the lawyers of Fimer spa and McLaren Applied / Greybull Capital were present at the hearing.
The first to speak were the lawyers of Fimer spa who underlined the hope of continuing the agreement: “there are no impediments to the continuation of the agreement”. Then specifying the intention to ask for extraordinary administration if the Court revokes the admission of the composition. Already in the press release sent, the company had stated that it “has established the agreement with the investor McLaren” but also that “it has carried out, in addition to the actions described, everything necessary to allow the continuation of the existing procedure and the execution of the plan concordat”.
Despite all this, the confirmation of McLaren’s offer is on the table, which opens the horizon to the Terranuove plant. The word will now pass to the judge of the Court of Arezzo.
Mayor Sergio Chienni: “In the hearing that has just ended, McLaren confirmed its commitment to Fimer. It is the essential precondition for a favorable expression of the court and for guaranteeing business continuity. It is a first sigh of relief after months of uncertainty and suffering. The present and future of 280 workers and all related industries is linked to the fate of this company. They are our people and they have always behaved with honesty and great dignity. Now we need to keep the level of attention high so that in the next few months the process proceeds in the effective protection of the people involved. We have witnessed too many contradictions in this year and a half and for this reason we will continue to supervise and support the workers”.
Among the positive news also the announcement by a member of the new Board of Directors of the payment of salaries tomorrow.
