From April to December 2023, in Sicily numerous events are planned such as theatrical performances, musical, cinematographic and gastronomic reviews, sports competitions and religious celebrations. All these have been included in the calendar of events of great tourist attraction adopted by the Sicilian Region through a decree signed by the Councilor for Tourism, Elvira Beloved.
“It is a tool of strategic importance required by current regulations – said Beloved – which is the prerequisite essential for council planning and more generally for the tourism promotionto“.
The purposes of the calendar are exclusively promotional: this includes events identified on the basis of their appeal to the sector tourism.
The events planned for the month of April included in the calendar are those for the Holy Week of Enna, Caltanissetta and Trapani. Among the events from May to August, however, the classic representations of Syracuse have been included, the 107th Targa Florio, the Mediterranean Horse Fair, the Taormina Film FestTaobuk, the Orestiadi of Gibellina, the Sicily Jazz Festivaland yet the feast of San Giorgio in Ragusa and that of San Calogero in Agrigento, the Feast of Santa Rosalia in Palermo and the feast of the Vara in Messina.
Among the events from September to December are the Cous Cous Fest, the Bellini International Contextthe Sacred Music Week of Monreale, the Paths of Treasures, the Coppa degli Assi, the Targa Florio Classica and the feast of Santa Lucia in Syracuse.
“We will continue to equip ourselves with the calendar for the years 2024 and 2025 – declared the exonent of the Schifani government – and herein lies the importance of planning at least every two years, identifying the events to be included through a specific public announcement”.
