The accident occurred on the waterfall known as the Polar Ocean, in Cogne. The man was climbing alone and was not tied up when he fell. When the Alpine Rescue guides arrived on site, he was already unconscious and his conditions immediately appeared very serious.
Two landslides instead detached in less than an hour in the Cuneo mountains.
