L’AQUILA – A light rain “baptized” this evening the presentation to the city of the 2024 events calendar #ViviAvezzano: a maxi container of events, festivals and initiatives, with many souls and voices as protagonists, which will also succeed in this edition to showcase first and foremost itself, the territory. The press conference was held outdoors, near the fountain in Piazza Risorgimento, in front of an audience made up of artists, artistic directors, musicians, actors, cultural protagonists of the city, merchants, children and citizens.
The coordinates of this new itinerary of entertainment, between taste, poetry, music, theatre, sport and vintage engines are two: 91 events for 91 days (from 17 June to 15 September) and the three international pop music bands that will enrich the summer “bouquet” of the Avezzano programme: Elettra Lamborghini, which will close the “Marsican Week” in style conceived by the Pro Loco of Avezzano, led by Edoardo Tudico, Arisa in concert at Piazza Risorgimento August 28th and Silvia Mezzanotte with the show “Roman Holiday”, scheduled for on September 14, on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Maria di Pietraquaria. The city, after safe schools and sports of national echo, becomes a great cultural construction site this summer, “thanks above all to the precious and decisive collaboration with the various associations of the territory, which have already responded “we are here” to the challenge of the Giro D’Italia and now respond “present” to the tourist challenge of the summer. They are – specified the mayor John of Pangraziowho greeted all those present – the right arm of this city’s desire for growth”. Among the audience, maestro Massimo Coccia, artistic director of “Festiv’Alba, scheduled from 1 to 9 August. Among the novelties, it is worth mentioning the first Festival dei Cunicoli di Claudio, “Vitrea Unda”which takes inspiration from a Virgilian quotation of the waters of Lake Fucino in the Aeneid, which will open on July 30. In this case, all the theatre associations of the city, the Theatre of Colours, Theatre Performers among Many, the Flight of the Beetle, the Lanciavicchio Theatre, thanks to a nice synergy with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Abruzzo and with the precious contribution of Dr. Emanuela Ceccaroni, they have worked on a Festival that will be itinerant: each spectator will be able to bring a comfortable blanket from home and admire the panorama, archaeology and theatre under the stars. From July 7th, the new “Jurassic Sundays” will arrive, which will take place at the Dino Park, with 11 dinosaurs and many attractions. “Terremerse” third edition, instead, that is the festival of arts and identity, with the artistic director Emilia Di Pasquale, will make everyone fall in love once again in Piazza Torlonia, from 13 to 19 July. From 24 July, the white nights will begin which, for this edition, will adopt a completely new look, that of “Paths and Flavours”, thanks to the constant commitment of the local trade associations (the others are scheduled for August 23 and September 11). On July 25th, it will be the turn of the Miss evening, with the beauty contest “Miss Italia”, in Piazza Risorgimento. The next evening, it will be the turn of Golden Short Film Festival, at Piazza della Repubblica, organized by the Committee for Cultural Communication for the city of Avezzano, chaired by Maria Paola Giorgi, with the super guest, actress Vanessa Gravina. The events calendar has already started, in truth, with important appointments: during the last weekend of June, the Motoguzzi rally was held in Piazza del Mercato, while between Piazza Torlonia and Piazza San Bartolomeo, the sixth edition of the “Cappello delle Donne” took place. Tomorrow, instead, it will be the turn of the roar of the engines with the twelfth edition of the Circuito d’epoca della città di Avezzano, with the start of the Abruzzo Gran Tour, which will have its highlight on the evening of July 6, with the tour of the city center (godmother will be Adriana Fox). Piazza San Bartolomeo will also be rediscovered once again by citizens and tourists, with the original and intimate show on August 13th, entitled “Musical Candle”. Also from August 13th, a new season of the “Festival Musica e Parole dell’Appennino” format will begin, which this year will touch the stages of Cese, Antrosano and the Concentramento district. From August 22nd to 24th, space will then be given to the Progetto De André at the Aia dei Musei, from an idea of the director Flavia De Saints On August 27th, it will be held “Not just music”, in memory of Sergio Ranieri, historic advertising agency of Avezzano. On August 30th, instead, under the sky of Avezzano the Night of Treasures of Abruzzo will take place, with many guests. For the days September 6, 7 and 8, instead, the artistic director of “Marsicaland”, Giuliano Montaldi, present at the press conference, launched the return of the land market, with the excellence of Marsican products. The sports councilor spoke during the press conference, Pierluigi DiStefanowho recalled the well-attended event “Avezzano in Movimento”, scheduled for September 10, and the municipal councilor Federica Collaltocreator of the “Avezzano Bimbi” format together with the artistic director Donato Neri, which will start on August 27, with a varied calendar and a maxi final event. In the front row, this evening, the deputy mayor, Domenico Di Berardino, the president of the city council Fabrizio Ridolfi and the city councilors Concetta Balsorio, Antonio Del Boccio, Ignazio Iucci, Domenico De Angelis and Alessandra Cerone. “Avezzano – concluded the mayor – will be a resource for all of Abruzzo: it is not only a city in motion, but an attractive center that is becoming increasingly important and well-known. Our administrators, every day, try to raise the bar, teaming up with the city and demonstrating their inexhaustible love for this territory”.
