PISTOIA
An agreement aimed at promoting projects for the redevelopment and energy efficiency of schools and the enhancement of local transport and road services aimed at having a positive impact on the education, mobility and safety needs of the local community. The agreement signed by the Province of Pistoia and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is an agreement created thanks to the resources of the European Union, within the scope of the InvestEU Programme, and by Cassa itself. The cooperation between the provincial administration and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is aimed at supporting the social and cultural growth of the Pistoia fabric, stimulating collaboration between public institutions and the private sector and will have as its object assistance, consultancy and technical-operational support to promote the implementation of projects dedicated to the education of young generations. The Province (pictured is President Luca Marmo) of Pistoia, within the scope of the Single Programming Document, intends to pursue the objectives of making the school building heritage of its jurisdiction safe from a seismic point of view and of energy efficiency. Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will offer the Province of Pistoia technical consulting services on the strategic planning of school building investments, implementation methods, procedural process, tender criteria for awarding projects and, where applicable, their implementation. Luca Marmo, President of the Province of Pistoia, states: “With this tool, the Province of Pistoia consolidates its relationship with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which has continued for several years. The highly qualified skills of CdP will allow the body I represent to better and more fully achieve the objectives set by the European Commission with regard to school building.” Maria Elena Perretti, Advisory Manager of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, stated: “The agreement signed today allows Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, thanks to the InvestEU Program, to collaborate concretely with the Province of Pistoia in the implementation of an important program of renovation and modernization of the school building heritage, also with a view to improving the energy efficiency of the same buildings, as well as developing new sustainable transport infrastructures”.
