It starts at the Como District Prison a new business project in prison promoted by Intesa Sanpaolothe first Italian banking group positioned at the world’s top for social impact and a European leader in sustainable finance. The initiative, which represents a virtuous model of collaboration between private and public entities, it was presented together with the Como prison, Don Gino Rigoldi, the Regional Office and the client companies hired by the Regional Management of the banka.

Promote the meeting between companies and trained workers

The project, coordinated by the Sales & Marketing Management Enterprises driven by Anna Roscioaims to promote the meeting between companies and workers trained at the laboratory set up inside the prison. In addition to Intesa Sanpaolo, the District Prison and the Regional Office, it also involves the MekTech group, specialized in the design and construction of robotic systems and plants, and the Ozanam cooperative, which facilitates the job placement of people in difficulty. The program allows eleven inmates to specialize in the construction of complex electrical panels commissioned by MekTech.

I inmates will receive technical training for the release of a certificate of participation in the course for electrician wireman technician and a job opportunity, contributing to their path of social rehabilitation and reintegration into professional life. This professionalizing path offers prisoners a chance to enter the workplace once they have served their sentence. Intesa Sanpaolo, through the Regional Directorate and the DiSales & Marketing Business Department, structures of the Banca dei Territori Division led by Stefano Barrese, promoted the project in the Como penitentiary institute. Support for the prison world is part of a broad program of social commitment for the inclusion of the most vulnerable in the world of work, reduction of inequalities and fight against poverty, as desired by CEO Carlo Messina.

Intesa Sp’s project: a bridge between prison and society

The initiative was made possible thanks to the involvement of Intesa Sanpaolo for Socialwithin the Chief Social Impact Officer area led by Paolo Bonassi, that creates alliances and partnerships between the profit and non-profit, public and private sectors. MekTech, a technological industrial group based in Giussano (MB), has committed to purchasing the electrical panels made by prisoners in the coming years. The collaboration with Ozanam, which has been involved in job placement paths for vulnerable people for over 30 years, is fundamental. The project presented today at the Como Prison is a bridge between prison and society, a program that integrates public and private to bring work and training in a logic of recovery of people and reintegration into society. Today’s meeting saw the participation of the Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Ostellari, Maria Milano Regional Superintendent Lombardy, the CEO of Mektech.
