This is what happened on Sunday in Locri where Christian Guarnieri, 34 years old, He died after being visited at the Emergency Room of the hospital in Contrada Verga due to feeling unwell, but after the checks he was discharged.
According to the family report, the young man waited at the Emergency Room for several hours and after the checks he was sent home where, after continuing to suffer severe pain, is dead.
Immediately afterward, the relatives of the young man, who is well known in Locri and the surrounding towns, reported the incident to the CArabs of Locri who started the investigations and, with the coordination of the prosecutor on duty, proceeded to seize the body which was then transferred to the hospital in Reggio Calabria, awaiting the autopsy and being able to trace the cause of death.
On social media, the 34-year-old’s family and friends have posted messages of condolence, recalling the young man’s human qualities and kind soul.
With Christian’s death, the sad number of cases of alleged medical malpractice that have occurred at the Locri hospital since the beginning of 2024 rises to 4.
As you may recall, in fact, in January a young Indian man died in the Surgery department after a few hours of waiting in the Emergency Room, while in February a newborn baby died in the delivery room, and at the beginning of May an elderly man died in the Polistena hospital following a fall inside a department of the hospital in Contrada Verga where he was being treated.
Three cases, these, on which files have been opened by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Piazza Fortugno, which is now called to verify what happened on Sunday to the 34-year-old CG, whose body was transported to the hospital of Reggio Calabria the cells of the morgue in Locri are all occupied by the victims of the shipwreck that occurred in recent weeks off the coast of Locride.
