Discover Sciampitta 2024 in Quartu: from 13 to 18 July, songs, dances and traditions of international folklore. Opening event on 29 June and final in September.

Fourth Summer Events 204: The over a decade-long tradition Of Shave is about to take the stage in the Quartu summer. The 39th edition of the international folklore festival will be held from Saturday 13th to Thursday 18th July, with a prologue on Saturday 29th June and a final event at the end of September. Colours, songs, dances will light up the Quartu nights for a festival that this year too will be a concentration of culture.

The first date is a workshop dedicated to the ancient art of filigree in Sardinia. This goldsmithing technique consists in the interweaving of thin gold threads, or in other cases silver, which, after twisting, are fixed on a precious support, creating an elegant perforated effect. This workshop is an opportunity to discover a centuries-old art that is very widespread in Quartu, where many professionals, true artists, have brought the tradition beyond the local borders. During the evening, the 2024 program of Sciampitta will also be officially presented.

The appointment is set for Saturday 29 June at 7.30 pm at theAncient House Museum Sa Domu’e Farrathe heart of the Quartu tradition and home to the “Si Ghètat custu bandu” festival, promoted by the Municipality of Quartu in collaboration with various city associations, including ‘Città di Quarto 1928’, organizer of Sciampitta.

The event will be curated by the masters of the laboratory Rocca Filigrana. Aldo Cinus and Mariano Staffa will speak, with Margherita Puddu as moderator. In addition, the ‘Comitato Fibromialgici Uniti’ will be present with a delegation of doctors available to talk with interested people.
