Ravenna among the 10 most polluted cities in Italy. This is what emerges from the ranking prepared by Ener2Crowd.coma sustainable investment and savings platform, which has updated theAir Quality Index. Milan is on the podiumwith an index of 56; then Bergamo, with an index of 55, and Brescia, with an index of 56. In these three Lombard cities the main pollutants are fine dust and in particular PM2.5.

Unfortunately in seventh place is Ravenna (index 46), after Padua (index 51); 5), Venice (index 50), Bolzano (index 48). The Byzantine city is followed by Florence (index 45); Pavia (index 42) and in tenth place Rome (index 39).

Pollution caused mainly by road traffic is now aggravated by thermal stress, a direct consequence of climate change. “The situation will worsen even more in July, when temperatures will rise and consequently air quality will worsen,” explains Niccolò Sovico, CEO and co-founder of the company Ener2Crowd.

According to the platform’s analysts, this year in Italy temperatures will be even higher than last summer, which had already recorded the record for days with the greatest extreme thermal stress, measured in terms of perceived temperatures above 46 degrees. But pollution caused by road traffic is also aggravated by climate change.
