All ready for “A-Riva”the multidisciplinary festival now in its third edition organized by Bass Culturewhich is included in the activities financed under the Public Notice “The Two Baris 2024”promoted by the Municipality of Bari and funded by the General Management of Entertainment at MiC and from POC Metro 2014-2020to support the implementation of live entertainment activities in the peripheral areas of the municipal territory.

A busy programme of distributed activities from July 5th to August 15th with proposals ranging from concerts, to theater shows and dance performances, to workshops for children and adults with the aim of reaching the widest possible public participation. With “A-Riva” we continue to pursue a reversal of the trend, with a varied map of free-entry activities that shifts the focus from the city center to the outskirts.

CONCERTS
We start from St. Jerome Waterfront with a double appointment: the July 5th to the ore 21 on stage in the regional premiere The Crusa cult band from the nineties, for the presentation of their new album “Protect me from what I want” with a completely new line-up for an engaging and fascinating live performance, with a powerful and refined sound; the July 6th to the ore 21:00 instead it’s the turn of the Casino Royalealways in regional premiere, with a live performance that is dense and free from any categorization, a generational mix, a story in which the entire sound universe that characterizes them will be retraced.

The musical programming continues on July 19th a Santo Spirito on the Cristoforo Colombo seafront con Anythingone of the most iconic female voices of Italian music in a reinterpretation of some of her musical works, accompanied by Andrea Mucciarelli on the guitar.

A-Riva Festival ends on August 15th to the ore 19:30 with the unpublished project in national premiere “Soundwave” Of Mattia Vlad Morleo al San Catald Lighthouseor in Bari. A tribute to the inventor of the radio Guglielmo Marconi, with a contemporary journey to discover sound in space, in a creative way, through piano and electronic music.

SHOWS
Not only music, but also space for dance and theatre. The July 13th from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00 all’Workshop of the Beginnings the intensive workshop of Afro-Brazilian popular dances, songs and rhythms entitled “Communication”, conducted by the choreographer Ana Star edited by Origens, Afro-Brazilian Cultural Association. At the end of the workshop the July 14th to the ore 19:30 the engaging dance performance open to all is expected, always led by Ana Star with the percussionist Caesar Pastanellaexpert in African, Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and the participants who took part in the workshop.

Il July 17th to the ore 20:00 debuts atWorkshop of the Beginnings the family show “Songs for a show that doesn’t exist” by and with Molla and Gigi Carrino. Molla, confusing the day of the dress rehearsal with the day of the show, will find himself improvising a hilarious show made of songs and much more without having anything at his disposal. With him on stage Gigi Carrino in the role of the furious director of the show who will share monologues and songs with Molla.

Il July 26th to the ore 20:00 space for the theatre with “There was twice”, the interactive show for families based on the texts of Gianni Rodari, curated by Twenty-nine-nine Cooperative. Conceived and directed by Mary Negro e Gabriel Polymenothe show brings to the stage, in a modern key, “The pretend asleep in the woods” and “The emperor’s new clothes” which will involve the young audience in an interactive way.

THE LABORATORIES
In addition to concerts and multidisciplinary shows, the “A-Riva” festival offers a wide range of workshops for children and young people, as well as training sessions for adults, which will take place at the Officina degli Esordi. Five initiatives are organized by the Spine cultural association. The first workshop on the program (aimed at boys and girls aged 12 and over and adults) is “Alchemy  of Rhythm” con Vincenzo Cantatore il July 5th to the ore 18:00. We start with a series of reflections taken from the literature on the importance of learning to listen and to “feel” the rhythm both through hearing and through bodily sensations and the therapeutic value of the drum circle. The activity is in fact based on the engaging experience of the “facilitated Drum Circle” (Drums and percussion circle), a musical activity that helps people to connect by building relationships that aim at social inclusion and sharing the rhythmic spirit. TheJuly 11th instead of the ore 19:00 space for training for adults with the meeting “From popularization to musical narration: a short journey between two worlds” con Mari Lacalamita e Mulla. A moment of experimental training in which narration meets music and rhythm merges with words creating a thousand new possible stories.

Il 15th of July to the ore 18:00 space for the little ones from 6 years old and up with the laboratory “Soundtracking a story” con Mulla to give life to the sound setting of the animated reading of the illustrated book. The July 18th at 7:00 pm continues the training for adults with the meeting “The Time of Classics: A Reflection on Literature, Theatre and the Very Young” con Mari Lacalamita e Annalisa Gobletfor a focus on classical authors, writing, and theater.

Il 23 July the programming by the endsSpine Cultural Association with the appointment at ore 18:00 Of “BOOKinScene” con Mari Lacalamita. An animated reading meeting for children aged 4 and up with the magic of stories that come to life, through the voice, mimicry and improvisation of the reader.

Il July 26th to the ore 17:00 the last workshop scheduled for the event entitled “Tailor-made fairy tales” edited by Node Cultural Association for children aged 6 and up. The workshop of listening, reading and dramatization of fairy tales invented by children includes listening to the Podcast “A voce libera”, reading the fairy tales listened to and dramatization and re-elaboration of one or more fairy tales by children.
