Too Much Traffic at Santa Barbara Traffic Lights, Residents Demand Two Roundabouts

Two roundabouts instead of traffic lights in Santa Barbara: residents request. “The road is now very busy and is becoming dangerous for those who travel on it”.

Residents of the Santa Barbara and San Sisto areas are asking for interventions on the road frontwho also sent a letter to the mayor of L’Aquila Biondi to ask for the installation of two roundabouts along two intersections currently regulated by traffic lights.
These are the intersections of Via Angelo Pellegrini, with Via Carlo Confalonieri and Via Ugo Piccinini.

“The road with a high concentration of traffic has become unbearable, vulnerable and dangerous for those who travel along it. Pollution knows no borders, which is why shared political solutions and proper urban planning are needed to minimize risk factors. The two traffic lights no longer provide the safety they once did, they are too close to each other, mostly near the Tigre Supermarket, so a high intensity of traffic does not allow for proper traffic flow and disposal, much less contributes to worsening the air quality for those who live near the houses”, one of the residents reports to our editorial team.

“The solution of the roundabout installed in Via San Sisto has determined good results. Why, then, can’t we do it in those streets too? Furthermore, near the traffic lights there is a lack of pedestrian crossings as well as the necessary sidewalks. I hope that proper and healthy remedies will be taken to solve these problems, it would be a benefit not only for the entire area, but also for those who pass through it”.
