A week of workshops and meetings with great dancers and choreographers. A special opportunity for boys and girls who already study at least 2 dance styles to perfect their technique but also to meet different genres.
From 6th to 13th July «Courmayeur In Danza» returns, an event organised byFreebody Association of Vercelliwith the Municipality of Courmayeur and the patronage of the Valle d’Aosta Region. In this 19th edition, there is no shortage of surprises, starting with Emanuel Lodancer, judge and then teacher on the talent show «Amici» and choreographer on successful programs such as «X-Factor».
“The 8 days – explains the artistic director Daniela Tricerri – offer girls and boys with basic experience in dance the opportunity to improve thanks to the meeting with professionals. A special section will be reserved for children from 5 to 8 years old who will be able to participate in the Musical Junior workshop held by Loredana Avagliano of “The Coach”. It is an approach to the technique of the musical, which will lead to staging a choreography for the final Gala on Saturday 13 July at the Courmayeur Cinema”. Participants are offered daily lessons, taught by Elisabetta Seratoni, for the classical technique, Brian Bullard for the Broadway style with singing in English, Oliviero Bifulco, for the modern, Loredana Avagliano for jazz and contemporary, Little Phil for hip-hop while Tricerri, in addition to the artistic direction, takes care of the pilates section.
One hundred the very young: from Vercelli there was a massive turnout from the students of the «The Black Swan» school, while over 40 students are arriving from Sardinia. «These numbers will grow on the occasion of the appointment with Emanuel Lo on Sunday 7 July – explains Tricerri – when, at the Jardin de l’Ange, the public will be able to attend the lessons held by the masters of the course and by the guest of the edition from 9 to 12:30: choreographer, dancer, singer-songwriter and director, Lo has worked both in Rai and Mediaset for Ricky Martin, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Pavarotti e Geri Halliwell. And, since 2021, he has been a professor at Amici». To participate in Lo’s lesson only, it is possible to adopt a daily registration formula through the form downloadable from www.courmayeurindanza.it.
The other events open to the public will be, on Sunday 7 July at 6 pm, at the Jardin de l’Ange, the performance of the choreographies competing for the «Trofeo danza sul Bianco» which sees, among the schools selected online from all over Italy, also the Vercelli-based «The Black Swan»; on Wednesday 10 July at 11 am at the Pavillon du Mont Fréty of Skyway Monte Bianco, «Vibrazioni in alta quota con le campana tibetane», a performance by Anna Candeli which will precede the awarding of the «Trofeo Danza sul Bianco» hosted at 3,466 metres of Punta Helbronner.
Finally, Saturday 13 July at 9:15 pm, closing Grand Gala: all the students will perform and the scholarships for the 2025 edition will be awarded. The award named in memory of Helen Nathan Loro Piana, long-time godmother of the event, will also be presented: the recognition is given to participants in “Courmayeur in Danza” who have managed to transform their passion into a profession. The award will be presented by Andrea Succi, president of the Rotary Club Courmayeur-Valdigne.
