The body of the missing 19-year-old was found in the Enza river in Reggio Emilia

After more than 24 hours of searches, Giustino Danilo Colella was recovered, having dived into the waters above the safety level during a picnic with friends

REGGIO EMILIA – Giustino Danilo Colella like Cristian, Patrizia and Bianca, another young man swallowed by the waters of a river. His was identified this afternoon by the Fire Brigade on the Parma bank, not far from the point where, in San Polo d’Enza (Reggio Emilia), he disappeared on Sunday during a barbecue with friends, after a dive.

The searches continued for 24 hours to find the 19-year-old plumber who disappeared in the “swollen” river and above the warning level due to the bad weather of the previous days. He had dived around 1pm on Sunday, in the stretch between San Polo d’Enza e Traversetoloin the province of Reggio Emiliain a stretch made dangerous by strong currents and in a few seconds he had disappeared. The search began shortly after, when friends promptly raised the alarm. It took almost 24 hours to find him, lifeless, on the opposite bank, in the Reggio Emilia area and then proceed with the recovery.

Participants in the research were: fire fighters of Bologna, Reggio Emilia and Sant’Ilario d’Enza. It had also been activated diving unit from Florence.
