over 300 thousand euros in ashes

A Ferrari 296 GTS, a car powered by an internal combustion engine combined with an electric one, suddenly caught fire this morning in Mestre.

Over 300 thousand euros reduced to ashes in a handful of minutes. It happened this morning in front of the Fincantieri in Marghera, where suddenly – and apparently without a trigger – a Ferrari 296 Gts, a car powered by a combustion engine combined with an electric one and capable of releasing a total power of 830 horsepower. Fortunately, the fire caused no injuries. In fact, the man behind the wheel moved away in time, but was unable to save the car from the flames in any way. The car had left Tronchetto, during a sporting event, and was supposed to reach the Dolomites where the race would end. But something went wrong. The Ferrari driver stopped and got out, and a few moments later the fire broke out.

Dozens of passing motorists witnessed the scene at the time, and also took numerous photos before and during the intervention of the Fire Brigade, who promptly arrived on the scene with two fire engines. The car was irreparably destroyed. The cause of the fire is being investigated by fire technicians.

Also in the province of Venice last Thursday, June 27, two house boats caught fire in Murano. The boats, moored in Renier foundations, were one powered by electricity and the other by diesel. The day before, a truck carrying car batteries had caught fire on the motorway, between Portogruaro and San Stino. To intervene safely, the Fire Brigade had to immerse the batteries in water and then remove them from the container before removing the vehicle with the intervention of a crane. In no case were people involved.
