GIUGLIANO. A raid of predatory crime, unfortunately the umpteenth perpetrated in the city and its surroundings, cowardly and subhuman. An elderly woman, even with difficulty walking, so much so that she was forced to use a cane, was followed in the center by the “beasts” of the moment, then furiously attacked and, finally, snatched from her purse by two thugs from… the sewer, in broad daylight, in the area of the Municipality of Giugliano. The poor woman, as in fact reported by a nephew on the fb group “Giuglianesi Orgogliosi”, was thrown to the ground with unheard of violence, to snatch her purse. Having fallen to the ground, the victim was then rescued and admitted to the local San Giuliano hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with serious injuries: a broken nose, a broken wrist and another fractured one. Although she was initially released from the hospital, her already dire health situation worsened in the hours that followed, as the unfortunate woman began to show serious neurological symptoms, including difficulty speaking and facial immobility, which required her to be immediately hospitalized again. After hours of agonizing waiting and uncertainty, she was diagnosed with a hematoma on her head, making it necessary to immediately transfer her to the Cardarelli hospital in Naples for “specialized interventions”. “What a country we live in!” the victim’s nephew complained. “I’m not referring to healthcare because in that case they did everything that had to be done, but to crime, to the street checks by the police.” And he added: “What makes me angry is that nothing will be done to the robbers while there is a person who could even risk his life at this moment.” The author of the complaint then directly addressed the mayor of Giugliano, Nicola Pirozzi, and the local authorities for a strengthening of controls and security in the city, also asking for “help in examining the recordings of the surveillance cameras, in the hope of identifying and capturing the attackers”.
