Bad news for sea lovers. By virtue of the latest weather alert issued by the Civil Protection of Campania, rain is expected across the entire region, in particular on the Neapolitan coasts and on the Domitio coast.
The rains will be in effect from 10am to 10pm today, July 2nd, and the phenomena may be sudden and intense. It is hoped, obviously, that the next few days will be better to allow all those who want to enjoy a quiet day at the beach not to see their plans ruined further.
Storms are coming to Naples, weather alert goes off
[DAL NOSTRO ARCHIVIO] Sudden and intense thunderstorms from 10 am to 10 pm on July 2, throughout Campania: the Civil Protection of the Region, in consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Center, has issued a weather alert with consequent Yellow criticality for hydrogeological risk.
Thunderstorms will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and may be sudden and intense. Hailstorms, gusts of wind and lightning are also possible.
Attention must be paid to hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground, there are flooding, rising water levels of watercourses, water flow on roads, runoff with transport of material, falling rocks and landslides also in consideration of the saturation of the soil or conditions of hydrogeological fragility of the land.
Due to gusts of wind, public greenery and the correct maintenance of structures exposed to stress must be monitored.
Municipalities are reminded to activate the COC (Municipal Operations Centers), to pay attention to the communications of the Unified Regional Operations Room and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, countering and mitigating the expected phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans.
In Naples, the beaches and city parks will be closed
By virtue of the latest weather alert, city parks throughout the municipality of Naples will be closed. Furthermore, the north pier of Bagnoli will be closed and access to the city’s public beaches will be prohibited.
