The summer public transport service, rubber trains and shuttles, is in full operation throughout the Etruscan Coast.
Promoted by the Province as part of regional public transport and entrusted to Giuseppe Amici’s Amitour company, the service is carried out in the tourist locations of the municipalities of Bibbona, Castagneto Carducci, Cecina, Rosignano, San Vincenzo and Piombino.
“Microlotto’s summer transport services – underlines the president of the Province, Sandra Scarpellini – are now an indispensable prerogative for the Etruscan Coast. Every year the project has been gradually expanded with new services and timetables to better respond to the expressed needs of the various territories, creating agile and economical ways of use for residents and tourists. A public service included in all respects in the planning of the regional LPT which the Provincial Administration, in collaboration with the Municipalities involved, renews every year with the aim of decongesting travel in tourist locations and seaside areas and, at the same time, encouraging a better tourist experience for those who choose the Etruscan Coast for their holidays”.
As can be read in a note from the Province of Livorno, for the Municipality of Saint Vincent the service is carried out by rubber-tyred train: the route of the line extends along the “Corso Italia – Piazza Caduti del Lavoro” section and is at the service of the various activities (commercial, services, tourist, etc.) located along the nearest urban area to the coast (the axis of Corso Italia, Via Alliata, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Viale Marconi, Via Serristori). The service concerns the evening time slots in which the center is pedestrianized and for this reason an electric traction vehicle is used.
Also for the Municipality of chickpeas flour pie the service is carried out with the rubber-tyred train, with two variants: the Circolare Marina di Cecina, an evening service that runs a circular route from the Hotel Tornese southwards to the Camping Le Tamerici (passing by “I Gonfiabili” and “Stella Marina”) and then returns to the Hotel Tornese passing through Via Ferrucci, Via Ginori and Viale Galliano; the Circolare Campeggi Nord – Marina di Cecina – Cecina, a service that runs a circular route from the Mazzanta southwards to the Hotel Tornese in Marina di Cecina and then to Cecina (Conad) and then returns to the Mazzanta.
Furthermore, it is confirmed for the months of July and August free shuttle San Pietro in Palazzi – Gorette which runs (from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm) 20 trips per day (10 outward and 10 return) from Palazzi (via Menotti) to Bagni Delfino alle Gorette.
In the Municipality of Bibbona they are active on Marina train and the “Bibbona shuttle”.” which connects Bibbona with Marina di Bibbona, as well as the various campsites of Marina with Bolgheri station.
For the Municipality of Chestnut grove The usual rubber train is active and operates on the Donoratico-Marina di Castagneto route and back. Also in operation Borgo in Bus daily service. The route winds between Marina di Castagneto, Donoratico, Castagneto C.cci and Bolgheri, passing through the Via Bolgherese (Wine Route) and the famous and wonderful Viale dei Cipressi. A line particularly appreciated by tourists.
The new free shuttle of the Municipality is also dedicated to residential and tourist users Rosignano Marittimowhich connects Vada (departing from the FS station) to White Beacheswith a service every 30′, for each direction.
For the Municipality of Piombino from July 1st it is active every day evening servicewith return trips, which allows tourists staying in accommodation facilities on the East Coast to reach Piombino and participate in entertainment events organized by the municipal administration.
