(AGENPARL) – Mon 01 July 2024 *Transport, the Ciliento councilor in Barletta for the opening of via Vittorio
Veneto and the Ferrotramviaria pedestrian underpass*
This morning the regional councilor for Transport and Mobility
sustainable, *Debora Ciliento*, attended Barletta together with the
mayor, *Cosimo Cannito*, to the general director of transport of
Ferrotramviaria, *Massimo Nitti*, and to the director of the General Affairs Sector,
legal and investments of Ferrotramviaria, *Pio Fabietti*, upon reopening
of via Vittorio Veneto (from via Marconi to via Zanardelli) to traffic and
at the opening of the steps of the pedestrian underpass connecting the
Ferrotramviaria and Ferrovie dello Stato stations.
These are the first two results relating to the intervention on the second
front of the Barletta station, financed by the Puglia Region for
approximately 4 million euros from the ERDF OP 2014-2020 in the Grande
“Railway adaptation of the North Bari metropolitan area” project, by
of which Ferrotramviaria is the implementing body.
The project, which started in 2021 and will end next September, is
aimed at strengthening and making the interchange station more efficient
Barletta Centrale, making it more accessible and functional, also thanks
to the construction of the Ferrotramviaria passenger building with
ticket offices and new services.
“Today we are recording the first results of a project that must be seen in
a broader perspective, that of connecting the North of Bari to the airport
of Bari, with important interventions on Andria and Barletta and the doubling of the
binaries, promoting interoperability between networks managed by different ones
operators – underlined councilor Ciliento -. Furthermore it allows
to mend two parts of the city that were previously separated by the railway line,
