CREMONA – Lombardy Region has approved the draft memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and with the Emilia-Romagna Region for the completion of the TiBre (Tirreno-Brennero), the motorway link that will guarantee the connection between the A15 Cisa motorway and the A22 Brenner motorway through a section shared with the Cremona-Mantova motorway. The green light for the agreement was approved by the Regional Council on the proposal of the Councillor for Infrastructure and Public Works, Claudia Maria Third parties.

THE BENEFITS OF THE WORK

«The agreement – states Councillor Terzi – immediately starts a shared path for the extension of the Tibre in the Lombardy region, strategic not only for the provinces of Cremona and Mantua but for the whole of Lombardy and Northern Italy, in particular for goods. The extension will in fact ease traffic in the towns, easing the burden on ordinary roads overall, and will include in the route the construction of a new bridge over the Po, strengthening inter-regional connections».

«The TiBre – underlines Terzi – is also fundamental for the construction of the Cremona-Mantua motorway: the two routes will in fact have a common stretch of approximately 8.5 kilometres between Calvatone and Marcaria. Without forgetting the decisive role of the motorway connection within the Tirreno-Brenner multimodal corridor and the European Ten-T network. I thank the Minister of Infrastructure, Matthew Salvinifor having unblocked the process of an expected and very important work for the infrastructure of the territories of Cremona and Mantua. Lombardy is ready to provide maximum collaboration to achieve the goal” concludes Terzi.
