The numbers of the waiting lists continue to fuel controversy with those of Pescara reported by our newspaper and which see several services, for non-urgent visits, requesting waits of well over a year.
Also intervening in the debate is the opposition regional councilor Luciano D’Amico who announces a question to the President of the Region Marco Marsilio and the regional councilor for Health Nicoletta Verì, “in order to shed light on the real state of the lists of expected in the Abruzzo local health authorities and on compliance with the regulations in force for booking visits and tests at the single booking centers (cup)”.
“Currently, despite the announcements of the councilor and the president – he continues – who have spoken more than once of millionaire investments to combat the phenomenon, citizens are struggling with very long waiting lists and an inefficient health system, which will be put even more at risk by the cuts and recovery plans to fill the economic holes of the Local Health Authorities”.

“Furthermore, in this context of uncertainty, from the press debate between MP D’Alfonso and the directors of the four Abruzzo local health authorities, we learn with concern that there are anomalies in the archiving of requests for visits. Anomalies which would give rise to pre-lists which would not be included in the calculation of the data transmitted by the Region to the Ministry and which would therefore sweeten the real state of the waiting lists in Abruzzo. We believe that the topic – concludes the regional councilor – must be addressed with an abundance of data and correspondence within the regional council and, without a doubt, I can already maintain that if the answers provided are not adequate to the clarity that the Abruzzo Region owes to citizens we will also bring the case to the attention of the supervisory commission of the regional council”.
